Clayton County has unveiled a new zoning ordinance that has been three years in the works and includes six new overlay districts, mandates larger front yard setbacks, creates a Medical Mixed-Use District (MMX) as a new zoning category allowing a “campus environment” for medical centers, hospitals and wellness facilities, and establishes a “tree bank” imposing stricter penalties for tree replacement and provides new incentives for tree retention.
