Despite Mayor’s Veto And Residents’ Objections, East Point Approves Purchase of Old Wachovia Building

Overriding a veto by Mayor Earnestine Pittman and heated residents’ objections, East Point City Council approved the purchase of the old Wachovia building on East Point Street for $900,000.  The building will become part of the City’s $14 million plan for a downtown governmental center.
