The Urban Land Institute (ULI) awarded Emory University a $18,000 Community Action Grant to create a walkable community model for major universities. ULI selected Emory University from 27 applications to create a blueprint for other universities striving for more walkable campus communities.
Emory University has a long-standing commitment to sustainability. The university has the highest concentration of LEED-certified building space on a university campus. In keeping with its effort to improve air quality, traffic congestion, and the health of its community, Emory now seeks to serve as a model for creating a truly walkable campus community.
